Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice explains what information Grant County Busted Mugshots may receive, how it is used, and when it may be shared. By using the service, you accept these practices. Official Grant County records remain with their public custodians; this notice concerns the operation of this private reference service and its partners.

Information You Provide

Search Requests

A name, location, or other term entered into a search tool is sent to the independent provider that operates that tool. Grant County Busted Mugshots does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. A provider's handling of a submitted query is governed by that provider's policy and terms.

Messages and Correspondence

Messages sent through a contact method may be retained so that we can respond and maintain the correspondence. We do not share those messages outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law or is needed to respond to a valid legal process.

Automatic Technical Details

When a browser loads the service, routine technical information may be collected to operate, secure, and understand the service. This can include:

  • an IP address;
  • browser type and version;
  • device type and operating system;
  • pages viewed and time spent on a page;
  • the referring website, if any; and
  • dates and times of access.

Cookies

Cookies and similar technologies may help measure how visitors use the service and support its normal operation. Browser controls can block or remove cookies, although some features may work differently after those controls are used.

How Information Is Used

We use available information to operate and improve the service. That use can include:

  • maintaining the service and improving its performance;
  • sending a search request to the appropriate partner;
  • understanding which information is useful to visitors;
  • detecting and resolving technical problems; and
  • displaying advertising that may be relevant to a visitor's interests.

External Sites and Ads

The service links to public offices, jail and court resources, Oregon Department of Corrections pages, and independent search providers. Once a visitor follows an outside link, that destination's privacy policy governs its information practices. Grant County Busted Mugshots does not control an outside site's content, availability, or collection methods.

Advertising partners may collect information about browsing activity across sites to deliver interest-based advertising through their own systems. Their practices are separate from the operation of this service.

Who May Receive Data

We do not sell personal information. Information may be disclosed or processed by the following categories when appropriate:

  • search providers that receive a submitted query;
  • analytics services that help measure use of the service;
  • advertising networks that provide ads; and
  • law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure.

Security Practices

We use reasonable safeguards intended to protect information handled by the service. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed fully secure, however, and no safeguard can promise that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.

Visitors Under Eighteen

The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted personal information, contact us through the Contacts page so that the request can be reviewed for deletion.

Your Information Choices

Subject to applicable law and the information actually held, a visitor may ask to:

  • receive a copy of personal information we hold;
  • correct inaccurate personal information;
  • request deletion of personal information; or
  • object to or opt out of certain processing.

Changes to This Notice

We may revise this Privacy Notice as the service or legal requirements change. A revised notice takes effect when posted with its updated effective date.
